everyone’s like ahh sm is so bad at promoting tvxq and shinee!! and i just want to be like hi have you heard of super junior
#!!!!#super junior#tvxq and shinee are getting treatment sj has already gotten and sj’s gets worse every damn year#tvxq at least gets to reign japan#shinee gets the public recognition because of the reputation sm helped build for them#while giving sj the ‘variety-dol’/yyj title track reputation and rarely sending them on shows that promote their musicality#and never giving kry an album either#in 30 new kpop fans there will be maybe 2 people who have actually listened to tvxq#but all 30 of them will acknowledge the impact tvxq had on the kpop scene#respectfully#while pretending sj didn’t do anything for hallyu#because of the reputation sm gave them#and the reputation that gets spread among i-fandoms outside of sj fans#because of how sm chose to market them initially (and because as sj rose to fame they got more haters than other groups because they blew#up internationally in a way no other group before their time had#not even tvxq because sj’s popularity surpassed asia#and as heechul always says#‘sorry sorry’ was the song that brought kpop to the world#and i guess people needed to bandwagon hate and that started with sj too)#and now they’re ‘old’ and they get hated on for that when it’s kind of actually a compliment#that this group still gets that kind of airport reaction and those dome concerts and those album sales years of enlistment and#hiatuses later#now in their tenth year#and now sj even gets left out of this discussion#sm sucks at managing their groups but sm’s always sucked with super junior#when will people understand that#we sympathize with the rest but tbh no one campaigns or sympathizes with us#when sj has been screwed over as bad or worse for years#and then people act like this is the first year sm has been neglecting any group#it’s so damn frustrating (via ourbridgeisforever)
ADDING ON even though no one asked i just hate how we legitimately cannot say anything about this w/o someone accusing elfs of being whiny or making everything needlessly dramatic (or ignoring other sm artists that are treated like shit) but what i think is so often not understood is that sm has NEVER ONCE given a shit about super junior. not even once. they were the throw-aways from the start and DESIGNED to flop and despite purposefully lazy marketing that lost a lot of their favor/reputation w the public they have been able to accomplish so much and it is so unbelievably frustrating to see a group that has beaten every single one of the odds time and time again never once be rewarded for their effort or contributions… sm STILL treats them as a liability despite being a major slice of their revenue and if other fandoms would put themselves in our shoes for two seconds it might be a bit easier to understand why we’re so upset when sj gets shafted time and time again with lazy marketing bc it’s not like they’re some nugus w/o relevance, they’re one of the most influential groups of all time and no one, from ifans to sm themselves, ever wants to give them credit for it. whether you’re a fan or not you should be able to admit that a group this important to hallyu deserves better, period
#NO OFFENSE BUT SUPER JUNIOR ARE SM’S GUINEA PIGS??? #WHEN THEY SAID THEY SENT NEW MANAGERS TO SUPER JUNIOR OTHER FANS LAUGHED BUT I’M ACTUALLY RATHER UPSET BECAUSE YOU SEND THE NEWBIES TO THEM #AND LIKE THEIR LACK OF EXPERIENCE HAS PROBABLY CAUSED SUPER JUNIOR HARM ONE WAY OR ANOTHER #OR AT LEAST TROUBLE #AND THE DISREGARD FOR SUPER JUNIOR’S WELLBEING DESPITE THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SM’S BRAND NAME/REVENUE MESSES ME UP #MAYBE I’M READING TOO MUCH INTO THIS MOMENT BUT SUPER JUNIOR WERE ALSO THE FIRST TO VENTURE INTO TROT AND THE CHINESE MARKET #P SURE THE INCLUSION OF HANGENG WAS ALSO TO SEE HOW THE PUBLIC WOULD REACT TO FOREIGN IDOLS #BUT THAT’S A MATTER FOR ANOTHER DAY #THEY WERE LITERALLY USED TO TEST THE WATERS FOR BETTER PLANNED AND EXECUTED GROUPS RE: EXO #EXO LITERALLY HAS SUPER JUNIOR TO THANK FOR THEIR CONCEPT LMAO AND A PART OF THEIR INITIAL SUCCESS LMAO#SM ONLY REMEMBERS SUPER JUNIOR IF THEY WANT TO TEST SOMETHING OUT BECAUSE THEY SEE SUPER JUNIOR AS A LIABILITY#IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING SUPER JUNIOR HAS DONE FOR THEM AND GETTING NOTHING IN RETURN (via allrisememe)
