WHY HAS BAPU SURAT SINGH BEEN FASTING FOR 174 DAYS? signal boost please

Hey everyone. I know many people have been vocal about this but I wanted to create a post to inform the ignorant and encourage you all to spread the word about this.
Bapu Surat Singh, an 82 year old man (and US citizen, after leaving India in 1988) from Ludhiana, Punjab has been hungry for 175 days now. Even to this day police are trying to arrest him, even though he is being 100% peaceful. Basically, Bapu wants prisoners of 1984 to be released, as they should be.
So why are big Indian celebs and news outlets silent? Well, because it’s the rights of a minority here. See, India isn’t particularly friendly to its religious minorities. From the way they treat Muslims who eat beef, to the way they’ve persecuted Sikhs. The media doesn’t give a shit about minorities in India fighting for their rights. When Anna Hazare took it upon himself to strike in protest of corruption in Indian politics, there was, rightfully, public outcry. He fast for like 5 days. It’s been almost HALF A YEAR, SIX MONTHS, since Bapu Surat Singh started his strike and still…silence.
SO, WHAT DO WE NEED? We need you to spread the word, however you can. If online is all you can do, that’s absolutely fine and you have our gratitude. We’ve seen high profile celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone with over 10 million followers on twitter completely ignore this as well as the Indian non-Sikh community as a whole. It’s been pretty painful to see so much damn apathy. We know many folks have their own struggles, but literally all we need at this point is a signal boost, to bring this issue to attention. Hopefully in turn Modi and co. will feel the burn and do what should have been done decades ago. We’re inviting everyone, to please spread the word. The more people know, the better.
Bapu Surat Singh is in critical condition. The picture above shows how far his health has deteriorated and all of us, including him, are pretty sure he will die. As much as I wish we could stop it, as much as I wish they this would get a huge boost that would let change happen in time for him to survive, the odds are against us. Lets not let him die in vain.

Bapu Surat Singh’s son-in-law, Satwinder Singh Bhola, was stabbed to death in Chicago yesterday. Assailants unknown and circumstances mysterious. Anti-Sikh killings in the US are usually hate crimes mixed up in Islamophobia, but this seems politically motivated. Keep up with updates and watch how mainstream media ignores this too.
